What is Material Science or Engineering Material?
Material Science is the branch of engineering science which deals with the study of matter and their properties to understand the behavior and application in various areas of the engineering field. It includes elements of applied chemistry and physics, as well as mechanical, electrical, chemical, electronic, and civil engineering. So, its a field of research and development which complements whatever devices we use in our day to day life.
Engineering is more related to the fabrication part. Because after preparing a material we need to ensure that these materials are used correctly with the application.
Materials science does not simply study the properties of materials but studies the relation between synthesis, processing, structure, and material performance that enables an engineering function. Industries involved in electronics, communications, medicine, transportation, manufacturing, entertainment, energy, and the environment are always related to materials and engineering functions.
The material that commonly studies are metals, ceramics, polymers, and their various composites. Moreover, the material science field is demand in recent days due to revolutionary development in nanotechnology and bio-engineering.
